The St Columbas rugby season 2015/16 has begun in earnest and there is much to be proud of. Fifteen lucky u13/first year players had an unique experience when they represented the school at a blitz stages at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The MBAS Sports Expo was held in the Gym in late October.
Students had an opportunity to explore displays from the Sports & leisure facilities in the Twin Towns area. Athletics, Tennis, Soccer, Fitness, Golf, Gaelic, Self Defence, Swimming & Boxing were all represented. We at St. Columbas encourage all students to have an active lifestyle - A healthy Body is a Healthy mind. Thank you to all involved.
The school welcomed back past pupil and world class professional boxer Jason Quigley today as he formally launched European Sports Week activities.
First year pupils witnessed a great event as Jason was interviewed by sports radio presenter Charlie Collins and we lookforward to a week of varied sports challanges and events.
St Columba's students had a great day at the Aviva All-Ireland Schools Athletics T+F Championships in Tullamore. Star of the day was Bláthnaid Patton, winning gold in the Senior Girls Triple Jump.
